Here’s something I haven’t done in a while: post on my blog!

But, for a change of pace, I’ve hopped onto someone else’s blog for a (very) mini book tour. I’m used to hosting others, so this is fun and different.

Jacqui Murray, one of my oldest and closest blog friends, kindly wrote about my debut novel, Wish I Was Here, on her blog.

Oh, but wait! Wait! One second! While I have you here, and since I haven’t updated you all in FOR-evah, just one quick thing to show you:

I finished Book 2 (some time ago actually. Ahem. Sorry.) and turned it in to the publisher.

Now we wait for their judgment.

P.S. I didn’t turn it in with “The end, baby!!!” I added that just for you, took a screenshot, then deleted it. 🙂

    • I know parents aren’t supposed to have favorites, but I like my second “child” so much better than the first. I can hardly wait for you to read it, Jacqui. And thank you again for hosting me. I’m enjoying my visit on your blog. 🙂

      • Cracking you up?!? My job here is done. Mic drop. Oh yea, I’m reading an amazing book right now. I’m still very early in it. I’m an incredibly slow reader. And I’ve been distracted from reading the past week or so. Damn life events have been getting in the way. Thankfully, no more ER visits. But I can’t wait to get back to it. Something tells me you would love the book and author. Ha, ha. 😎😎😎😎

      • I get most of my reading done in doctor’s waiting rooms. The exception was when I took a book with me to the ER but wound up only reading maybe 5 pages in as many hours. Too many distractions and interruptions. So rude.

        I would love the book and author? Book, yes. Author, eh. She’s kind of a weirdo.

        At a certain point in the book, sh*t’s going to get real, and you’ll have a hard time putting it down. Just giving you fair warning, my friend. 🙂 Several people have complained to me about lost sleep. 😛

  15. I was JUST wondering what’s been happening with Ilsa lately, and suddenly here you are. You’ve had the perfect excuse for taking a break from the blog. Congratulations on finishing Book 2! For the record, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see you include “baby’. Those little details are just so… you 🙂

  16. I am totally using “The End, Baby!” when I finish my next book!

    I thought at first this was the end of the whole series and was slightly panicked that you’d just given away the whole ending.

  19. Wow, just getting your first book out there are your second is already finished. Way to focus! What is the age range of reader that this book is intended for? I know it’s broadly for “teens,” but I’m curious if there’s a suggested age range.

    • My youngest reader, that I know of, is ten. She said it was “the best book she’s ever read–even better than The Babysitter’s Club!” High praise indeed. A 67-y-o man told me, though he’s clearly not my target audience, he really enjoyed it. So did a 76-y-o woman and basically everyone in between. A mom/daughter combo raved to me as well. The only slightly negative review was an early 50s guy admitting it was a little slow at first, but then it really took off. Anyhow, that was a much longer answer than you were hoping for! This is probably the answer you want: I wouldn’t go younger than middle schoolers.

    • Eeek! Exciting, but also eeek!! Can you ladies edit the podcast if someone says something, oh, I don’t know, super embarrassing?? Just wondering. No reason! Eh heh heh.
