Every summer we come up with a new chore chart for our kids. This year maybe we’ll just follow this one someone sent me.

Which is your favorite age-appropriate chore?

The world would be a cleaner place IF this chart represented reality. Very funny.

Seems completely reasonable. Because who doesn’t love a toddler with a chainsaw? 😄

Their level of destruction with merely their hands is hardly sufficient.

Because this list is Dr. Carrie approved, I concur

I have to say the ‘bathe grandpa’ seems a bit harsh. 😉

That could be the most dangerous of all the options. 😉

According to this chart, I am a very lax parent.
But that ends today.
ALEX! Get your nose out of that book and bathe Grandpa! And if you miss one spot, SO HELP ME GOD, you’re starting over!

“Paint the house” you missed, “Paint the house.” Well that’s what my mother had me do when I turned 14. When I was 16, dad made me do it all over again.

I’ll be sure to add that. We also need cleaning the chicken coop on there.

LOL! Nice list! Now, if you could get the kids to follow this, just think how much time you’d have to write! 😀 Have a great rest of your weekend!

They would probably do a better job than I would. I should try it!

Are these for summer? Would love to see what they can accomplish during the school year too. I’d be happy with never finding a dish in the sink.

With any luck, the summertime tasks will stick. Once my oldest took over the dish washing, the middle the rinsing, and the youngest the emptying of the dishwasher (which we use as our drying rack), my life got so much better!

I’d say, based on my experience and observations, that most summer job charts created by parents have about as much chance of being implemented as the hilarious ones posted above — my personal favorite being the one for ages 9-11. I laughed aloud at it.

I’m just about to print the real one. I guess we’ll see how it goes.
